Road Kill Chpt 9

Where are YOU?

Sid had given LoyAnn a key to his place when he moved in, so she’d had no problem in getting into the building. She’d knocked on his door and waited. She’d tried again but no answer. “Sid are you there?” No answer. She’d put the key into the lock and slowly she turned it, the door had opened. ‘Well at least he didn’t have the key changed,’ she’d thought as she shut the door behind her. She’d noticed the red light had been blinking on the Phillips answering machine that she’d bought him for his last birthday. She’d remembered saying to him. “We wouldn't want you to miss any important phone calls.” She’d showed him how to operate the machine for he’d had little affinity for technology and even this rudimentary machine had seemed to baffle him at times.

Slowly she’d moved toward the machine and hit the “Check Msg” bottom. “Sid baby, this is LoyAnn, I don’t have my phone, so call my house and leave me a message on my machine. Oh Sid.. Please!!! Please!!” She’d heard herself sobbing as she hung up the phone. She’d been ready to stop the machine, but for some reason let it keep running.

“Hello baby it’s me.. I miss you.. Call me.. Love ya..” A woman’s voice!!

“Hello honey.. I need your big cock.. Um!! Um!!” The same voice!!

For the next ten minutes she’d listened to this mystery woman who’d been leaving messages for Sid. Over and over again she’d thought, ‘Who the fuck is the broad?’ At first she’d flown into a rage and had to hold herself back from smashing the machine. “Focus.. Focus..” The words of her teacher had rung in her ears. Yes she’d needed to focus, she needed to figure out what actually had been going on here.

“First things first. I need to get back to my place.” For a moment she’d been in deep thought, then walked to the answering machine. She’d known that Sid was too fucking stupid to have used the function that’d allow him to check his message remotely, so she reprogrammed the phone with a code that’d allow her to listen to all of his messages, especially the ones from the mystery woman.

She’d looked around, this time a little bit more thoroughly. She’d opened some drawers to see what she might have been able to find. There hadn’t been much in the living room, just some porno DVD’s and a few copies of Penthouse. That was what she’d expected from him. Next she’d moved to the kitchen. Nothing there. “I guess he and his new girl friend never eat at home.” Then the bed room where she’d discovered a tong which had been mixed in with his underwear in the dresser drawer. “Well now isn’t this interesting?” Sid was too stupid to have noticed if anything would be out of place, but his new squeeze, now that may be a different matter, she may have noticed some things if they’d been moved, so LoyAnn had been careful to replace everything that she moved. The bathroom had proved to be the most revealing of all, there in the top drawer of the vanity had been some make-up. “Now I’m sure Sid is not crossing.” Low and behold, a tube of lipstick. It’d been HER shade.. “The fucking bitch is wearing the same shade as me!” She’d been pissed off and had to control herself, she hadn’t wanted to fly off the handle and broken something that ‘bright boy’ could have noticed. ‘Be cool bitch,’ she’d told herself. ‘Be cool.’ She’d retraced her steps and before departing their little love nest made sure that she hadn’t left a stone unturned. She’d cooled down, it’d been time to leave.

She’d let herself out and walked to the Rover. She’d jumped in, started up the SUV, pulled out of the parking lot and headed home. ‘Firstly cool off and secondly to put a plan together.’ She’d been wondering what they’d been up to. She’d had no money, she hadn’t been from a well know family, in fact the only family member who’d been alive had been aunt Julie in the Twin Cities to whom she hadn’t spoken with in a long while. So it’d seemed there’d been no motive. What would be their plan? To fake his abduction? To fake his own death? What could they have been possibly planning in their deviously perverted minds?

It’d taken her over two hours to get back to her place, she’d been in no hurry for she figured that they most likely had been watching her every move. This in fact had been far from the true, for that moment Sid and Rain had been fucking back at Rain’s secluded house in the hills.

LoyAnn had arrived at her place and parked the Rover in one of the spots in the underground garage. She’d walked over to the elevator and hit ‘18’, her floor. Soon she’d been sitting in her living room and felt drained. Once she’d sat down she had a difficult time getting up. Fatigued and smelling terrible, she’d needed to get out of these clothes and take a long hot bath in order to clear her head and to relax, it’d been a long day.

She’d stripped off her dirt covered clothes, slowly walked into the bathroom, and turned on the water in her oversize tub. Walking to the kitchen she’d opened the cupboard and withdrew bottle of Vat 69 Pinch. Pouring herself a stiff drink she’d walked to the refridge and hit the automatic ice machines lever which released a few cubes into her glass. Downing the drink, she’d walked back to the bottle and gotten herself a refill. Naked, she’d walked back to the bathroom. Suddenly her cat, Sofa, had jumped out from behind her bed. She’d been frightened. “You scared the shit out me you little fuck.” She’d picked up the calico cat and hugged and kissed him. “Well at least you love me,” She’d petted him until he’d begun to purr. She'd been feeling a bit more relaxed now, maybe it'd been the cat or the Scotch, she hadn't known which. Putting the cat on her bed, she’d returned to the bathroom where she tested the water in the tub. “Perfect” Turning off the water she’d slowly lowered her body into the tub, taking another sip from her drink, she let herself relax. She must’ve dozed off for when she awakened the ice had melted in her drink and the water in the tub had become cold. Unplugging the tub drain she’d slowly stepped from the tub, walked to the shower and turning on the water, slowly stepped under the cold water. The drops of cold water which had been splashing against her had caused her nipples to become hard, slowly she’d rubbed her full breasts. All she’d been able to do was to think of Sid and that bitch. “Fuck you Sid, Fuck you!!!”

She’d dried herself off, gone to her bedroom, thrown on some sweats and jumped onto the bed. Sofa had been there waiting for her. She’d given him a big kiss and a hug. Getting out of bed, she’d gone to the kitchen and finally realized that she’d been famished. She hadn’t eaten since she had the snacks from the backpack when she’d been on the Trail. Opening the refridge, she’d looked to see what food she had in the house. She hadn’t done any shopping because she and Sid had gone away for the weekend, so the food supply had been a bit short but she managed to find a frozen pizza in the freezer. Turning on the oven, she’d opened the door and popped the frozen pizza into the oven. Additionally she’d found some frozen bagels which she threw in the microwave. She’d been famished. Removing the bagels from the micro, she’d loaded them with cream cheese, sat down and wolfed them down like there would be no tomorrow.

“That hit the spot.” Going to the refridge she’d grabbed the OJ, poured herself a huge glass and thrown it down. “Great, fuckin great.” The buzzing of the oven had signaled that the Pizza had been ready. “Now for the main course.” She’d cut the pizza and started to eat. “Hey Sofa, get you ass over here. Do you want a piece?”

The cat had come wandering out of the bedroom and run to her side. She dropped a piece of Italian sausage that she’d taken from the Homerun Pizza to the floor and the cat had devoured it in record speed. “Good eh?” She’d given him another tasty morsel. Purring the cat had rubbed his body against her leg. Refilling her glass with ice, she’d poured herself another scotch, thrown it down and walked to her bedroom. Lying down on the bed, she’d been asleep before her head hit the pillow.

She’d drawn the drapes in her room before she’d fallen asleep, so when she awakened it still had been a bit dark in her room. She’d glanced at the clock-radio. 1:30 PM Sunday afternoon. She needed to get her ass moving because she had to be at work tomorrow morning.

Loy had gone down to the lower level garage where her car had been parked. She’d left the Rover where she parked it the night before and had taken her car to the store. She’d needed to go to the local supermarket in order to purchase some needed supplies for the week. She’d cook most of the time, however the majority of it would be fast food type of stuff. Pizza, TV dinners and the like. She’d work most days 8:30 -4:30, so she still had time after work to throw some food together. She’d finished her shopping and headed to the service station in order to fill up her car, usually she’d filled up about once every two weeks.

Before she’d gone up to her place instinctively she stopped to see if there had been any mail in her mailbox. Opening the box she’d seen that there’d been a plain unmarked envelope in the box. She imagined who it may have been from, but had waited until she got to her place before she opened the letter.

She’d set down the two bags of groceries on the kitchen counter before she attempted to open the letter. She been rather interested as to what could have been inside the envelope, so carefully she’d opened the envelope and removed the paper.

don’t CalL Cops!! hE will DiE! We will gET BaK 2 U! SoOn!

“Oh my how dramatic, Sid and his little bimbo girlfriend have tried to fuck the wrong person,” she’d begun to laugh.

She’d gone to work on Monday morning, but hadn’t mentioned a word to anyone as to what had occurred over the weekend. Some of her friends however had noticed the diamond ring on her finger so of course she’d gone into the greatest detail about their romantic weekend and how they’d planned to get married in the very near future.

She’d called Sid’s company early Monday afternoon.

“May I speak to Mr. Falk?”

“Is he in? No? Do you know where I can reach him? He went to a trade show in Omaha? How strange he never mentioned that to me. Well when do you expect him to return? Do you happen to have the name of the hotel he is staying in? Oh.. the Regency.. OK. Could you possibly give me the number? Great thanks, you have been so helpful. No .. There will be no message, I will try to get in touch with him later. Thanks again.”

She’d hung up the phone. ‘A trade fair.’ Again she’d picked up the phone and dialed the number that his assistant had given her.

“Regency Hotel? Do you have a Sid Falk registered? Yes, I can hold. Oh you do! Really! When did he check in? Oh I see, late last night. Can you please connect me to his room? Thanks. Oh shit no answer.”

“Sid this is Loy. Something very strange is happening here. Darling please call me, I miss you so much. Please darling. Please darling call me as soon as possible.” She’d broken into tears and then hung up. “That should convince him I am worried about him.”

After work she’d returned home and as usual had checked her mail, there’d been nothing but bills and rubbish mail. ‘I guess this rubbish mail is why these guys that work in the post office “go postal,”’ she’d thought and started laughing.

The week had dragged by and still there hadn’t been a single word. She’d expected to hear something, anything from them, then on Thursday when she’d been returning from lunch, her assistant had given her a ‘phone message’
.
“Hello, this is Sid; when you get home tonight make SURE you check your mail.” That’d been it.; clear and simple. Check her mail. OK. She’d been interested to see what their game would be.

She’d opened her mail box and withdrew the note, it’d been as she expected; the same format as the two previous notes.

Go 2 da SamE CabIN! 2moRROw AfTEr WoRK!

It’d seemed that they’d been ready to start with the next phase of their plan. She spent most of her time that evening listening to the messages on Sid’s answering machine, she’d been looking for some clue, but they’d all been about the same.. ‘Call me…’ Nothing that could help her to see what their next step would be therefore she’d have to wait and be prepared for the worst.

Friday had arrived with no further contact from Sid or his little playmate. She’d left work on Friday and hadn’t mentioned anything to her friends about what she’d be doing over the weekend.

It’d gotten a bit cooler so she’d worn a warm wool sweater as well as a few layers of underclothes; she wanted to be prepared for the worst. She’d gone to the lower level garage, opened the Rover and thrown a small backpack into the back seat. Soon she’d be on her way to a date with destiny. She’d arrived at the cabin after 9:00 PM. Tired and hungry from the drive she’d gone to the restaurant for a light dinner. After she’d eaten she walked back to her cabin. Still there’d been no contact from either of them. Approaching the cabin she thought she’d seen someone or something that’d moved in the forest. When she’d reached the cabin she noticed that an envelope had been stuck to the cabin door, she removed it from the door, carefully she opened the envelope.
